Tie (bow) decoration at the front. This beautiful maxi dress is dated 1972 by Rose Marie Rid from the limited edition range. There's no care label inside but the dress is made from synthetic fabric (probably polyester/nylon) and has a very smooth and silky texture. It does remind me of the type of fabric used for bathing suits - hardly surprising as this designer was responsible for selling more bathing suits in the 1950s than any other. Please refer to the designer information at the bottom of the description. This dress is hand-finished and very high quality. It's decorated with a brown, white and burnt orange, swirly leaf motif on a black background.
